Description

The Cost Accountant position will be responsible for the development of the companys cost accounting systems and processes. This person is accountable for the ongoing analysis of Cost of Goods Sold, Job/Inventory Costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The cost accountant must also develop and monitor data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of reporting data to management. Reporting directly to the Controller; the ideal candidate will have the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

Required Skills

The following are required skills, certifications, and *must have* requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance.  Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 5 or more years of Job Costing experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to collaborate with various departments to solve problems as a team. Must be able to adapt to enable efficient data gathering and analysis  Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills High level of Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products Strong organizational and communicational skills Detail oriented

The following are preferred skills, certifications, and *would be nice* requirements: Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards Produce accurate inventory evaluation reports based on perpetual records as needed and develop key ratios to monitor. Monitor cycle counts for variances and resolve issues. Co-ordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts with Inventory Manager.
